Maybe it is very hard for experts to count how many music lovers in this world, however they can caculate how many music festivals in a year all around the world. In this article, we'd like to introduce some interesting music festivals held in this world.
1. SXSW - South by Southwest, is one of the biggest music festivals held every spring in Austin, Texas. In the 2010 SXSW Interactive Festival, all new media companies are official participants at this year's event. There will be some face-to-face connections with those decisions-makers, leading-edge adopters and trend-setters by attending the 2011 SXSW Interactive Festival which is scheduled March 11-15 in Austin, Texas.
2. Rainforest World Music Festival is a unique festival in the world. It brings together on the same stage renowned world musicians from all
continents and indigenous musicians from the interiors of the
mythical island of Borneo.
3. Glastonbury Festival.
The king of all music festivals kicks off in June with its usual impressive line up of guests, and the Pyramid Stage will be graced by the likes of U2, Stevie Wonder, Shakira, Scissor Sisters, Muse and Faithless.
4. T in the Park, Scotland's top festival, it
kicks off again this year with some big names to entertain music devotees such as Eminem, Stereophonics, Kasabian and Jay-Z. In addition to the live acts, there will also be a fairground, an open air cinema and market stalls.
5. Austin City Limits Music Festival, its 2010 edition will take place October 8-9 and will feature Muse and the Strokes. This festival is tied to the popular PBS music series Austin City Limits, this Austin City Limits Music Festival caters to rock fans who enjoy acts in the mainstream (Dave Matthews Band) and the margins (the Raconteurs, Wilco).
6. Download Festival. It happens every June for one weekend in Donington Park in Derby, England. Making its debut in 2003, Download has spotlighted up-and-coming groups as well as veteran bands. There are a ton of bands playing on different stages during the three-day event, so it’s important to map out your itinerary in advance. 7. Rockstar Mayhem Festival. Kicking off in 2008, the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival travels the U.S. with some of the loudest hard rock bands in tow. The debut edition featured Slipknot and Disturbed, and this year's lineup will include Korn and Rob Zombie. The festival runs from July to August.
